Here are pages scanned in from my sketchbook. Done with various black pens and Prismacolor markers.
Here’s something i’ve been holding onto for a while.
Here are some silhouette excercises i did for fun. I picked up this technique from “The skillfull huntsman”, a book published by Design studio. I simply used a fine point sharpy marker on plain white 8.5×11 sheets of paper.
Here’s an update for my buddy Jay, It’s a sketch of the background i’m planing for a shot. It’s going to be of a nice family oriented neighbourhood. The kind of neighbourhood where kids play hide and seek, mom works on her flower garden on the weekends and the neighbours invite you over for BBQ. Lemonade, Sand boxes and squirrel chasing galore! In this scene, a dog will be jumping in from off the scene and into the foreground beside the fire hydrant.
Hope you like it!
Ahoy!
the following is self explanatory. It’s a line test.
Enjoy
Hi Everyone,
Here it is, my final walk cycle animation.
Regretfully, some aspects of the assignment are missing from the final animation, the character was intended to have a backpack and a sword holstered to the side of his hip. I was forced to exclude them from the final due to time constraints, and for that I kick myself.
On a more positive note, I am pleased with how my timing turned out. Much time and effort was taken to clearly understand the actions that make up a walk cycle and i think (or hope) that this is apparent in my work . As a personnel goal, I didnt want to shorthand my key drawings and made sure to take all the time needed to perfect them. The movement is very “flowy” and I’m happy to have achieved a piece such as this for my first walk cycle. Now its time to move on to the next assignment.
please comment,
Matt
I got together with some buddies to capture some good references for our next upcomming assignment… a man stepping up on top of a box.
Check it out!
Hey everyone,
As I prepare for another session of work, I decided to take the time to update my progress on my walk cycle.
This is it, my very first of many walk cycles!
Something about finally doing a walk cycle for the first time makes me very excited. I’ve posted my rough key animation done so far. Even timing for the moment. My goal right now is to nail the keys just right then move on. I would greatly appreciate any direction on how I can improve these drawings.
Cheers!
Hello everyone!
Here’s a quick assignment that had to be completed in a few short days. It’s a simple one, and is the reason why it was givin to us mostly as a weekend assignment. Nothing special here, but I was hoping to use it as a test subject for posting video’s. Obviously the template used on my site wont accommodate the movie size very well.. Does anyone know how to fix this? … Chris?
Take care all,
Matt
EDIT : I’ve figured out how to resize the movie so that it no longuer “breaks” the site.
Cheers
